Lying, cheating and corrupt. NuLabour is listening to you.

The Pyongyang NHS Citizen's Jury in full flow yesterday

Dr Rant is a dyed-in-the-wool sceptic, and whilst I get angry about things, I am very rarely surprised by the depths of moral depravity to which our fuckwitted-cuntathon of a government and their malignant DoH admindroids routinely sink to. I am however suprised and disturbed by Dr Ray's latest post about 'NHS citizen juries'.

You probably saw this on the news this week - Gordon and cronies attending a carefully managed event that made a North Korean 'We love the Dear Leader' rally look like the height of spontaneity.

Yesterday evening I had an insight into the workings of Nulabours "consultation" process on the planned closure of NHS District General Hospitals and replacement with dumbed down polyclinics.

A few weeks ago invitations to attend a public consultation were sent to consultants at our Trust. We were only given one day to reply for the meeting in the near future even though we have to give 6 weeks notice of leave because of "choose and book".

Obviously this meant that most of us could not attend but one consultant did take up the invitation...........
Is anyone else struck by the irony of Gordon 'The Pot' Brown calling Robert 'The Kettle' Mugabe 'Black' this week? I suppose that we should at least be thankful that we haven't got inflation of 6000%! Praise be to Gord for our economic miracle!

Please read the whole article on Dr Ray's blog and leave your comments. Email your friends with a link to the article. (click on the blue text above if you are a technotard-Ed)

Tell everyone you can. This is not too complicated for anyone. If you have sufficient mental capacity to tick a box in a polling both, then you can understand this. It is simple fraudulent, dishonest, deception This is the essence of our democracy today. Be afraid.

STOP PRESS: For Video of Gordon at the NHS Citizen's Jury event, have a look at this piece on Witch Doctor's Blog.

Is there no way t oget this into the media?

Surely C4 would do a little bit on this? They seem to be the only ones atually reporting the news at the moment...i'm actually loosing faith in the BBC.

Dr Ray requires a Google account, or similar. Don't mind giving an e-mail address but will not sign up to, or use, special accounts just to comment on a blog.

The activities described are about par for the course these days but I do wonder why the media have not picked up on this and splattered it all over the front page and TV screen.

I've emailed my MP who is actually quite a decent chap for a politician.

This will stick I reckon as Dr Ray is not anonymous.....

As well as the unbiased selection of jury members, one of the key features of a Citizen's Jury is that the witnesses should have diverse perspectives. Wonder how much diversity there was among these witnesses?

Also it seems the custom to pay fees and traveling expenses for everyone participating - presumably that will be the answer given to justify the £75 in the envelopes.

Apparently a single citizen's jury of about 12-16 citizens costs about £16,000 to £23,000. A planning cell (whatever that is) costs about £100,000.

No account either to comment on Dr Ray's blog, but yes, I agree, A and E Charge Nurse that many of the problems in the NHS just now are due to complicity. If anything came out of MTAS, it was to highlight the complicity of senior medical staff. And so it goes on. The problem is that the Army of Quislings are overly responsive to carrots and sticks.

The media do want to run with this. According to Nulabour's own publicity there were 1000 people at this rally and I am hoping some will come forward. Like I said on the post, I am recounting what was told to me by someone who did attend and who isn't due to "retire" quite yet.
You only need to read the previous post about Dr Otto Chan to see how the NHS treats whistleblowers so you will understand why its not that easy for a consultant to stick their head above the parapet.

As my teenage children say: OMG!!!
Here in the Capital of Culture our erstwhile guardians of the NHS organised a sham consultation under the dubious title of: THE BIG HEALTH DEBATE.
Can I just point out there was no DEBATE involved. Thousand upon thousands of glossy leaflets containing a survey which would be considered deeply flawed if it came under scrutiny were produced along with the same survey being made available on the internet. Loaded questions designed to get the answers they want (Q3 - GP Access: do you want to never be able to see a GP or would you like longer surgery opening times etc etc - not verbatim, you understand - but you get my drift!) This was followed up with a similar event to the one attended by Dr Ray (except I think the clinicians invited were all hand-picked arse -wipes who'll do whatever the suits tell them to do and lo! we are to have 40 surgeries closed in favour of big shiney 'super centres' with XRAY facilities and all sorts of goodies - although I'm not sure about gynaecological surgery(!!??)
I've said this before, the loonies in Whitehall would be getting nowhere without their willing accomplices in the SHAs and local PCTs - incompetent bureaucrats and smarmy politician, empire-building GPs and other clinicians who are feathering their own beds and avoiding doing any clinical work as they engineer the end of the NHS. It's time the rest of us made a stand.

Perhaps the answer is to form a "Citizens Jury" of aged 60 plus consultants and GPs who are almost in retirement mode to say what needs to be said loudly and fearlessly.

In that group there will surely be significant numbers who don't care a monkey about carrots or sticks.

Or maybe most have retired by 60, their clout retired with them and no-one will listen.....

Sounds like a good idea, witch doctor, the "Citizens Jury".
It is so sad that people today, cannot speak the truth without being penalised.
These despicable lies and deceit from the government cannot go on unchallenged. I do hope there a few decent MP's and media bods, who can bring these matters to the masses. We all need to take a stand now.
Keep up your wonderful, informative blogs and thanks so much for bringing the truth to us lay people.

If I have understood this correctly I’m staggered. It also raises broader questions such as what will happen to the surplus hospitals. My home town hospital (which is under threat) has a brand new up to the minute equipped maternity wing. Will this be sold off (cheap) to some private health company?

Having read the account of this 'consultation' it would be interesting to know just where these non medical 'members of the public' came from. i.e. Were any or some of them bussed in?

The Department of Health have admitted the bit about the cash in plain envelopes and a few people have written in to DNUK and to medical blogs to confirm they were given as little as 24 hours notice to attend the consultation; simply not possible for a hospital consultant.
We may never know who the lay participants were. Presumably this is why they were paid in cash so that there will be no paper trail if someone makes a FOI request.
The only people I can see would have had sufficient warning of the event, time off from their employers and could be relied upon not to give the wrong answer would have to be Labour party researchers and employees of the companies doing the Labour party publicity and PR.
You might notice that the Downing St. video doesn't pan across the audience so they can't be identified.
