Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

Hey there, wait a minute Mr Postman!

Dr Rant is not a critic of the BMA for the sake of it. The team have great respect for some of the more awkward members of the GPC, Laurence Buckman and the big man Hamish. We are however NOT fans of the BMA as an institution.

We understand that Alan Johnson, the man who bears much of the responsibility for destroying quality primary care, and shoveling huge amounts of public cash into the pockets of a few favoured private sector friends, has been invited to be a guest at a BMA dinner!!

Words fail me.

There's alot of cunts in medicine. My subs are paying for that meal, so I hope the fuckers all choke.

Lol

.. It maybe a 'business' dinner Dr Rant. Big Hamish may have a delicate agenda that needs a 'relaxed' atmosphere to get a good result

German doctors strike - the Media in britain never report it but strikes are increasingly frequent as the German hospitals screw juior doctors on pay and hours....but never is this reported because there is "Fog in the Channel"

Very glad it's not being paid for by my subs! Is this the BMA trying to prove it still moves and shakes with the big boys? Pathetic.

time to resign from the BMA- the ballot was a serious misrepresentation of GP interests but needn't have been so; the GPC has capitulated in a non-tenable fashion. Then to invite Postie to dinner is a straight insult to us.
The Government now has carte blanche with the contract; look forward to another pay cut next year and oh yes longer hours will be hailed as a great success so much so you will be doing more still...

time for a new union i think- one that actually tries to represent it's members interests over anything else.

i just think the bma is confused. how can a trade union be committed to both it's members interests and the interests of the product. i know it's a contraversial thing to say but it strikes me there are plently of patient bodies out there (gmc, patients associations etc).

My subs don't pay for this, I left. Sadly the BMA has completely lost the plot on the idea that its' primary function, indeed the only one that matters, is to represent the interests of its' members. Joined HCSA. What do dissilusioned GPs do if their GP club doesn't even work for them?
