While we are on the subject of Highland Health Board....

A Dr Rant reader, who works as a junior doctor in Highland, has sent us information that Raigmore Hospital appears to be having problems organising their rotas for the new intake of junior doctors this month:

Tory health spokeswoman, Highlands and Islands MSP Mary Scanlon, said it was “unacceptable” that rotas had been finalised so late when the annual recruitment process was concluded in March.

A spokesman for the Scottish Government said: “It is the responsibility of NHS boards to ensure that there are adequate levels of staffing to meet patients’ needs and support strategic policy objectives.”

Top tip! If you are behind in your work, best not to spend all your time persecuting Dr Scot Junior for pointing out the obvious: that Dame Carol Black is a huge shit.

Doc

I sent a link to this to my brother who's a doctor in Australia. Back came this comment via Skype about five minutes ago:

" ... and with respect to raigmore hospital...they well and truly shafted me."

He had emigrated within weeks of that shafting. An emigration directly caused by the management filth at Raigmor. And that really is CAUSED.

Oh, and here's his comment on it from about thirty seconds ago:

"and the way management works they'll still always have snake-oil salesmen replies to any complaint...systems are very very good at it."
